Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Cristian Stellini has told The Times that Djed Spence needs to improve in training.

Stellini has said that Spence, who joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022, is not consistent in training, which is a reason why the 22-year-old right-back is not getting playing time. under head coach Antonio Conte at the moment.

According to The Times, the youngster will leave Spurs on loan in the final days of the January transfer window.

Spence has not started a single match for Tottenham since his move from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022.

Stellini said on Spence: “Being consistent without playing so many times is not easy, but being consistent in training is really important. This is the area where he can improve a lot.”

Loan exit makes sense

In our view, it would make sense for Djed Spence to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan in the January transfer window.

The right-back did extremely well for Nottingham Forest last season during his loan spell from Middlesbrough.

Maybe the 22-year-old could go back to the Championship and join a club aiming to finish in the playoffs.

Or perhaps Spence could find a club in the lower reaches of the Premier League who are looking for a right-back or a right wing-back.

If Spence has not been able to impress Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte in training in the last few months, then we do not think that anything is going to change between now and the end of the campaign.
