Jonathan Woodgate has praised Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One for his performance against Leicester City.
The former Tottenham defender has said that Romero has been superb for Antonio Conte’s side and has been a fantastic signing for the North London club.
Woodgate made the comments following Tottenham’s win against Leicester at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Argentina international centre-back was superb at the back and was also involved in one of the goals that Son Heung-min scored.

Woodgate said about Romero: “He has been a fantastic signing. For me, he is everything you would want in a centre-back. He is so quick across the ground.”
The BBC Sport pundit added: “I thought he was exceptional all game.”

Important player
In our opinion, Romero has been a brilliant player for Tottenham this season and is one of the first names on the teamsheet.
The defender had injury problems initially, but there is no doubt that under Conte, the 24-year-old has flourished.
Romero is perfect for Antonio’s three-at-the-back system, and given that he is only 24, there is every reason to believe that he will grow and improve as a player.
The Argentine has made 20 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.
