Cristian Romero has said that he is excited to be on his verge of joining Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur, as quoted in The London Evening Standard.
What’s the story?
The London Evening Standard have reported that Tottenham are set to sign Romero from Atalanta in the summer transfer window.
Spurs will pay the Italian club €50 million (£42.48m) plus €5 million (£4.25m) in add-ons for the 23-year-old Argentina international central defender.
Sky Sports reported late last night that Romero has completed a medical.
Cristian Romero comments
Romero has pretty much confirmed that he is on his way to Spurs and is looking forward to getting started at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The London Evening Standard quotes Romero as saying: “I only wanted Spurs because I really like this project.
“Paratici and the whole club wanted me and I’ll give my best. Premier League is the best way to continue my career.”

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Tottenham were not great defensively last season, even with Jose Mourinho in charge.
It is clear that the North London club need(ed) to make changes at the back, not just for now, but for long term as well.
Toby Alderweireld has already left Tottenham, who need to bring in at least one new centre-back.

It seems that it will be Romero.
The 23-year-old is a very good and promising young player who helped Atalanta finish in the Serie A top four last season.
Romero also won the Copa America with Argentina this summer.
