Tottenham announced last night that they have signed Romero from Atalanta.
BBC Sport have reported that Spurs have paid Atalanta £47 million as transfer fee for the central defender.

Former Tottenham right-back Chimbonda believes that Romero is a very good defender and could be a success at Spurs.
Would Cristian Romero succeed at Tottenham?
Romero did extremely well for Atalanta last season.
The 23-year-old centre-back helped the Italian club finish in the top four of Serie A.
The youngster scored two goals and gave two assists in 31 league appearances last season.

Then Romero won the Copa America with Argentina this summer.
South American football expert Tim Vickery has described the youngster as “combative” and “a real fighter”.
Romero is only 23, so he is not the finished article yet and will not be at his peak for a few more years.
The Argentina international certainly has the potential to grow and develop as a footballer and improve in the coming years.
