Cristian Gamboa has made seven appearances for Celtic since signing from West Bromwich Albion.
Cristian Gamboa has admitted to the Glasgow Evening Telegraph that he arrived at Celtic when he was not fit enough to make an impact.
Gamboa was brought to Celtic from West Bromwich Albion last summer, but the Costa Rican’s lack of game time meant that he did not feel match sharp.
It has taken Gamboa a while to get back in shape, since moving to Glasgow, but the full-back believes he is getting back to his best now.

Gamboa put in a good performance for Celtic as they picked up a 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League, in the week before the international break.
And Gamboa said: “When I came here I hadn’t played many minutes so I have tried to build myself.
“That was my seventh game for the club and I feel good. You could see I was a bit better with my fitness in Germany as I adapt to the way we play. I have been here two months and I am trying to take these ideas on board.

“I know how we play now and the gaffer has helped build my performance and how we play at Celtic, and I showed a bit of that against Borussia.”
Despite Gamboa’s impressive showing against Monchengladbach, he still has some work to do before he can be considered a first-team regular at the Glasgow club.
The 27-year-old has made just seven appearances for the Bhoys so far, with most his time being spent on the substitutes’ bench.
Celtic are back in action after the international break at the weekend, when they take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
