Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini were among the West Ham United players that took to Twitter to celebrate their win over Chelsea in the last 16 of the EFL Cup.

The Hammers set up a quarter-final with Manchester United after their third successive win in all competitions saw them overcome the Blues at the London Stadium.

It was West Ham who opened the scoring after 11 minutes as Cheikhou Kouyate’s brilliant header just inside the box beat Asmir Begovic in the Chelsea goal.

And they doubled their lead just minutes into the second-half when summer signing Edimilson Fernandes drove a low shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards for his first goal for the club.

Though Gary Cahill halved the deficit in stoppage-time, the Irons managed to hold onto their lead and book their place in the next round.

And while many of the West Ham squad took to social media to celebrate the win, striker Ashley Fletcher expressed his delight at the prospect of facing the club where he came through the youth ranks for a place in the semi-final.
