Clinton Morrison has singled out Yves Bissouma for the improvements he has made at Tottenham Hotspur this season.

The former Premier League striker, who is a boyhood Tottenham fan, added that Yves Bissouma is the one ‘running the show’, even though many would point towards James Maddison for that.

The man Morrison wanted to credit for Yves Bissouma’s turnaround was Ange Postecoglou, as he told Sky Sports News (17/09/23).

The Treble-winning coach at Celtic has helped transform, not just the club’s style of play, but also individual players.

Someone like Yves Bissouma is at the top of the list because, even though he arrived with big expectations under Antonio Conte last summer, he struggled for form, consistency and regular starts.

It’s still early days of the new season, but Spurs have, without a doubt, looked like one of the best teams so far.

Bissouma is ‘running the show’

“One more player I must pick up on, Bissouma,” said Morrison. “Other managers have worked with Bissouma and he has struggled.

“Ange Postecoglou has basically seen a place for Bissouma in that midfield and he is now running the show, so credit must now go to Postecoglou.”

Rodrigo Bentancur yet to come in

If this current Tottenham midfield is making the fans sing and dance, then wait for Rodrigo Bentancur to enter the picture.

The box-to-box midfielder is nearing a return to action after being out injured with an ACL since February.

Ever since Bentancur hit the treatment room, Spurs collapsed beyond belief, but now when he returns, well, he doesn’t, at this moment, get into the midfield when fit, which says it all really.
