Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to react after seeing how Pep Guardiola reacted to something Benjamin Mendy did against Chelsea.

The Spaniard could be seen looking pained on the touchline as Reece James burned past Mendy and surged up the Etihad Stadium touchline.

As Chelsea’s No.24 storms away, Guardiola can be seen sinking to one knee on the touchline with his head in his hands.

Evidently, he wasn’t too happy after seeing his £52 million left-back beaten so easily.

Mendy was eventually withdrawn in the 80th minute, before Marcos Alonso scored in the 91st minute to hand Chelsea all three points.

Despite being beaten by James, the France international didn’t have a terrible game.

As WhoScored shows, Mendy completed two key passes and embarked on one dribble, while also blocking two shots.

In our view, Guardiola – being the perfectionist he is – was most likely anguished that Chelsea were breaking away, rather than anything personal aimed at Mendy.

However, some fans below think it was personal.

One supporter said they’d be surprised if Mendy was still at the club next season.

Another fan feels Guardiola is ‘done’ with the former Monaco man.

Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the five-second footage…
