Jarrad Branthwaite is ‘getting better and better’ after leaving Everton for a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven with former Netherlands international Marcel Peeper telling De Telegraaf that a Premier League club is bound to make a big bid in the summer.
Unfortunately for Sean Dyche, Everton’s most in-form central defender is currently plying his trade some 500 miles east of Merseyside. 48 hours before Conor Coady and James Tarkowski endured an evening to forget at Anfield, Branthwaite produced another Rolls Royce performance as PSV got their Eredivisie title challenge back on track with a 6-0 obliteration of Groningen.
Branthwaite even took his tally of goals to three in the space of two games; following up his mid-week brace against Emmen with another as the Eredivisie’s bottom club came to town.

“Jarrad Branthwaite is central in the backline,” Peeper begins, including the former Carlisle United youngster in his latest Team of the Week.
“He played well again (vs Groningen) and scored his goal. He is getting better and better. And, if he continues to develop like this, he can go a long way.”
PSV loanee Jarrad Branthwaite is facing uncertain Everton future
According to the Daily Mail, PSV had a £15 million bid rejected by Everton during the January transfer window. The Dutch giants could return with a new and improved bid in the summer, though reports suggesting that Manchester United are sending scouts to watch Branthwaite in action complicates matters.
United boss Erik ten Hag has, after all, made excellent use of the Eredivisie market.
“I understand that PSV wanted to sign him permanently last winter. He is showing (why) more and more,” Peeper adds. “But now they have to take into account that there is a crazy English club who will want to lay down many millions more for him next summer.”
20-year-old Branthwaite has only featured 10 times in the Premier League for Everton. If the Toffees do cash in, they will be making a colossal profit on a player who joined for around £1 million back in 2020 after bursting onto the scene in England’s fourth-tier.
“I like it here (at PSV),” Branthwaite admitted last week. “I will definitely consider staying here.”
“We would like that,” PSV coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy adds. “He is a great talent. The boy is 20, but he has a future. He is good on the ball, can play on the left or the right of centre-back because he is two-footed. He has height and speed, so he is very complete.”
