Brentford manager Thomas Frank has suggested to WestLondonSport that the club could ask for “crazy money” for David Raya, amid speculation that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bringing the Spain international goalkeeper to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.
The Times have reported that Tottenham are considering a bid for Raya in January.
Spurs have had an initial enquiry about the 27-year-old goalkeeper already turned down, but the North London club remain keen on him and are weighing up an offer this month.
According to WestLondonSport, Raya is out of contract at Brentford next year.
Thomas Frank on Tottenham Hotspur target David Raya
Frank said about Raya: “Selling players is something we have been really good at and it is a good strategy within the club.
“I would like to keep him but it would be better if he had two or three years to go on his contract, but some players this season have been sold for £30 or £40 million with one year on their contract – crazy money.
“I don’t know when is the right time, but while David is here I am very happy with him.”

Spurs should bid
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur should make a bid for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya in the January transfer window.
If Spurs think that the Spaniard would be a good long-term signing for them and would be a great successor to Hugo Lloris, then they should make a move now.
There is no point in waiting until the summer of 2023.
Lloris is not having the best of times at the moment and made really bad mistakes against Arsenal and Manchester City over the past few days.
Raya has improved a lot as a player and has proved himself in the Premier League.
