Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed their appreciation towards Erik Lamela for his comments about Bryan Gil.
After nearly ten years in Tottenham colours, Lamela left the club for Sevilla, with Gil heading towards the other direction this summer.
Many would argue that Lamela’s signing, which was used as part of that Gareth Bale money, didn’t work out and they will be hoping Gil is a different story.
And whilst Spurs will find out that answer in years to come, this is what Lamela had to say about the man that is seemingly replacing him in North London.
“He has great potential,” Lamela told AS. “He is very young. I saw him in a match and he has a bright future ahead of him.
“Tottenham are a good group. They will welcome him well.”
Spurs fans have been warmed by Lamela’s comments and how positively he is speaking about the club.
Even though he has left, the supporters pointed out how much respect he still has for the current Premier League leaders.
Whilst life has started off in the perfect fashion for Nuno Espirito Santo, a number of his new signings, including Gil are yet to break into the main XI.
But with the Europa League conference games kicking in and matches set to increase after the international break, it won’t be too long before Gil is showcasing his talents in the Premier League.
Whilst Lamela lacked that inconsistency, one thing he was able to do was to produce that moment of magic.
