Dimitar Berbatov has spoken highly about the ‘crazy’ Leeds United fans and thinks the club will ‘raise a statue’ of Marcelo Bielsa, as he told Stadium Astro.
The Manchester United legend also admitted that he doesn’t want to see Leeds drop straight back into the Championship and thinks they are going to ‘bring something’ to the top-flight.
It has been 16 long years since those in Yorkshire have tasted Premier League football and on Saturday, when they take on the champions Liverpool, that wait will finally be over.
Berbatov shared his thoughts on the ‘supportive’ Elland Road faithful and how they will fair upon their return to the promised land.
“I know how crazy their fans are and how supportive of their team they are,” Berbatov told Stadium Astro. “I saw how they celebrate their promotion to the Premier League.
“I think they will raise a statue of Bielsa outside of the stadium. He’s so loved there and he’s a great name in football.
“This [the Premier League] will be more interesting to watch [by] adding Leeds because I think Bielsa is one of the coaches that everyone respects so much, first of all from Guardiola. I read somewhere that Guardiola is saying so many good things about Bielsa.
“They are going to bring something. I will be curious to see. It’s not going to be like with Fulham where they get promoted and then they get relegated straight away. We don’t want that to happen. I want to see the fight, like Sheffield United, for example.”

Leeds haven’t wasted any time in making themselves known in the summer transfer market, with big-money purchases in Rodrigo and Robin Koch arriving through the Elland Road gates.
Even though they are a newly-promoted side, many are backing Bielsa’s players to work their magic and produce strong performances next season.
Others teams in the division will be in for a surprise when they face Leeds because the manner in which they press without the ball, attack in numbers and the variety of styles they can play with will be a problem to many.
