Jose Enrique has raved about Argentina’s World Cup winner, Alexis Mac Allister on Instagram, and the possibility of either Arsenal or Atletico Madrid signing the Brighton midfielder.

The former Liverpool left-back did note that given Mac Allister’s current situation, then he can see Brighton demanding a ‘crazy’ amount of money for the world champion.

Brighton have proven before that they are willing to sell their key players – after only one full season in England’s top-flight, Ben White secured a big-money transfer to Arsenal.

So, could Mac Allister, 23, be the next one off the block? Well, Arsenal have certainly expressed an interest in the all-action South American star.

When Football Daily’s Instagram posted about Arsenal or Atletico Madrid signing Mac Allister, this is what Enrique posted in the comments section.

“Whoever signs him, what a player and he is only 23,” said Enrique. “But I believe Brighton will ask a crazy amount of money for him.”

ARSENAL’S JANUARY TRANSFER PLANS

Arsenal are sitting at the top of the Premier League table, so fans could see a situation where they don’t push the transfer boat out as much as the fans would want.

Would someone like Mac Allister start for the Gunners right now? The answer would be no, but he would be the next one in line and a better option than what is on the bench.

Whilst Mohamed Elneny is ever-reliable and Albert Sambi Lokonga is showing great promise, Mac Allister is an upgrade on those two.
