Windass has shown glimpses of his potential since moving to Glasgow Rangers in the summer.
Former Rangers defender Craig Paterson wants to see Josh Windass given a run in Mark Warburton’s side in the coming weeks as he feels that that will bring the best out of the attacking midfielder, the Daily Express reports.
The 22-year-old has made nine appearances in all competitions since moving to Ibrox in the summer. And while he has shown glimpses of the quality that persuaded Warburton to bring him to the club in the first place, he is yet to fully establish himself as a key man in the squad.

And although he has featured in the Light Blues’ last three games, Paterson believes that an extended run in the team is what Windass needs.
“Josh is another lad who will really benefit from a run in the team. He got in against Celtic and was then out again and he has never really had that run of game after game,” he said, as reported by the Express.
“He’s definitely one they have high hopes for. He played well at the weekend and will want to take that into the next few games.”

With a run of very winnable games ahead for Rangers – their next three fixtures see them go up against teams in the bottom half of the Scottish Premiership – Windass will know that if he is selected, he should have more than enough opportunities to make an impact.
The Gers appear to be turning a corner in the top flight, so they will expect to be on the front foot in the coming weeks, and thus, Windass will definitely be looking to add to his two assists and perhaps grab a goal or two along the way.
