The Glasgow Rangers teenager has been praised by a man who knows him very well.

Rangers’ Head of Academy Craig Mulholland has been speaking to the club’s official website following the news that Aidan Wilson has put pen to paper on a new deal at the club.
The 18-year-old centre-back agreed a new contract earlier this week and the Gers supremo has been quick to praise the teenager, while suggesting that others are expected to follow suit sooner rather than later.

“Aiden is one of a few who we are talking to at the moment and we got him over the line first,” Mulholland told rangers.co.uk.
“There will be a number of young players who will be signing new contracts over the next couple of weeks.”
The centre-back featured twice for Rangers last season, starting against Aberdeen and St. Johnstone back in May, and he will be hoping to get more chances in the months ahead.

There is certainly scope for more opportunities now that Rangers have parted company with manager Pedro Caixinha, who persevered with summer signings Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso at the back despite neither justifying their selection in the latter part of his tenure.
Along with Ross McCrorie, Wilson is expected to become a first-team regular in time, and Mulholland certainly feels he has all the attributes to succeed long term praising his strength, aggression during play and influence on others.
For now Graeme Murty has been tasked with acting as caretaker manager at Rangers but whoever takes over for the long term will no doubt be excited by Wilson’s potential
