Former Glasgow Rangers defender Craig Moore has given his backing to the club’s academy plans.
Rangers announced via their official website that they have obtained permission to withdraw from the Development League next season.
Their objective is to arrange friendly matches at a higher standard, so they can take on the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Ex-Gers boss Mark Warburton’s former club Brentford took a similar step in England.
The plans won’t be everybody’s cup of tea, but former Australian international Moore believes his former club are making the right move.
He took to Twitter to praise the decision.
Rangers have former interim boss Graeme Murty overseeing their youth development, and he has several top young players to work with.
While Billy Gilmour has just left for Chelsea, the likes of Serge Atakayi and Liam Burt could really benefit from the club’s plans and if this helps them reach the first team as better players, it will prove to be a smart move.
