Craig Moore predicts big-money move for Celtic’s Tom Rogic amid contract uncertainty

Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has been backed to make a big move.

Former Rangers ace Craig Moore has been quoted by The Scottish Sun as saying that he thinks Tom Rogic will leave Celtic ‘for big money’ in the future.

Rogic, 25, joined Celtic from Central Coast Mariners back in 2013, but injuries and a loan move to Melbourne Victory meant that he had made just 15 appearances for the Bhoys before the start of the 2015-16 season.

The playmaker finally came into his own in that campaign, scoring 10 times in 39 games under Ronny Deila before continuing his development under Brendan Rodgers last season.

With 12 goals in 36 games last term, Rogic became a key player under Rodgers, and has grabbed another six goals and eight assists this season, but speculation now surrounds his future at Celtic Park.

The World Game in Rogic’s native Australia recently reported that the playmaker has snubbed a new contract with Celtic, meaning he is now approaching the final year of his current Bhoys deal.

With the World Cup just around the corner, and Rogic poised for a major role with Australia, Celtic will hope to see the midfielder sign a new deal before he has a chance to star on the world stage and attract further interest.

Now, former Rangers ace Craig Moore has been quoted by The Scottish Sun as saying that he thinks Rogic is a gifted individual who will eventually be sold by Celtic for ‘big money’ if he keeps up his performance levels – though the Bhoys do risk losing him on the cheap or for free if they can’t agree a contract.

“Tom Rogic is a very gifted player and comes from a footballing background which was different to the preferred curriculum,” said Moore. “I actually think this has made him technically a better player but his challenge is playing week in week out and completing games regularly.”

“If he can do that and be a consistent performer or in the top two or three every week then Celtic will eventually sell him as the interest would be there. Rogic can be a player that can kick on I have no doubt and for big money. He is probably still chasing the best form though for that to happen and really get people excited,” he added.
