Rangers are still looking to bring Kyle Lafferty back to Ibrox.

Hearts manager Craig Levein has told STV that talks with Rangers are ongoing over a potential deal for striker Kyle Lafferty.
The Gers have added 11 new signings this summer as Allan McGregor, Jon Flanagan, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic, Borna Barisic, Lassana Coulibaly, Scott Arfield, Ovie Ejaria, Jamie Murphy, Ryan Kent and Umar Sadiq have all arrived at Ibrox.
New boss Steven Gerrard would be able to field an entirely new starting line-up if he wanted to, but that doesn’t mean that Rangers are done in the transfer window just, with two more signings potentially wanted.
A centre back to compete with Goldson and Katic is a priority, as is another striker, with experience wanted in attack to ease some pressure of inexperienced youngsters in Sadiq and Alfredo Morelos.
The ideal man for that role is Kyle Lafferty, with Rangers now pursuing a deal for the Hearts hitman, having already had one bid of £200,000 rejected earlier this summer.
Lafferty, 30, may be entering the latter stages of his career but he thrived last season with 19 goals in all competitions, whilst he again got the better of Celtic with the winner in Hearts’ 1-0 victory on Saturday.

The Northern Irishman had one spell with Rangers, scoring 38 goals in 138 games during four years at Ibrox, and is thought to be keen on a return to his former club.
Now, Hearts manager Craig Levein has told STV that a deal is far from inevitable, but talks are ongoing as Rangers seemingly gain hope that their pursuit will ultimately pay dividends.
“We’re still speaking to Rangers about the situation,” said Levein. “I don’t want to go into any details. We’re in discussions all the time. Obviously the situation is not of our making and we’ll see what happens. There’s no point in me going over any details. Things are ongoing. It’s not inevitable,” he added.
