Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has praised Nir Bitton for his outstanding performance against Bayern Munich.

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has praised club teammate Nir Bitton for his brilliant performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Bhoys lost 2-1 against the German giants on Tuesday night at Parkhead. The defeat means Celtic won’t finish in the top two from Group B, and won’t go to the knockout stages.
In the absence of Jozo Simunovic and Erik Sviatchenko (both were ruled out due to injuries), Celtic boss Rodgers deployed Bitton as a centre-back against Bayern.

The Israel international has established himself as an important player for the Hoops over the years, but he is mainly a defensive midfielder by trade.
Gordon was full of praise for Bitton, saying he was “outstanding” during the game, and that he put in a very good performance.

“I thought Nir was outstanding. There was a number of really good performances tonight, but Nir was really good,” said Gordon, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
Bitton made four tackles, four interceptions and two clearances during the game, according to whoscored.com. He also made 87 passes with 89.7% passing accuracy.
Gordon was at fault for the opening goal. He said that it was a strange goal to concede at this level.
