Callum McGregor was superb in Celtic’s 2-1 defeat against Bayern Munich.

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has praised club teammate Callum McGregor for his brilliant performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The Bhoys lost 2-1 against the German giants on Tuesday night at Parkhead, where McGregor scored for the home side.
The German giants took the lead in the first half through Kingsley Coman, who pounced on the mistake from Dedryck Boyata.
Celtic put up a strong fight in the second half and restored parity thanks to a goal from Callum McGregor. However, Bayern made it 2-1 shortly with Javi Martinez heading in the winner.

Gordon, Celtic’s first choice goalkeeper, was full of praise for McGregor, saying it was an exquisite finish from the 24-year-old midfielder.
“Jamesy was excellent going down the line, taking players on and creating chances, and Callum showed great composure in the midfield,” said Gordon, as quoted by The Scottish Sun.
“What a finish from him as well top look for the angle through the goalkeeper’s legs.”

McGregor attempted two shots, and made 38 passes during the match with 84.2% passing accuracy, according to whoscored.com.
The Scotland midfielder hailed his nutmeg of Sven Ulreich as the best goal of his career. McGregor has previously scored in Old Firm games, but he is especially thrilled at finding the net against the German giants.
“That’s my biggest goal yet,” said McGregor, as quoted by The Scottish Sun. “The Champions League is the biggest stage and it’s an unbelievable feeling to score. It was an incredible feeling with the crowd all behind us. The Rangers goal was big for me personally but that probably tops it.”
