Craig Gordon is a huge fan of the former Celtic defender.

Craig Gordon has told The Daily Post that former Celtic team-mate Virgil van Dijk is guaranteed to be a big hit at Liverpool.
The former Celtic and Southampton centre-back will join the Anfield club for £75 million in January – a world-record transfer fee for a defender.
Van Dijk has been one of the Premier League’s best centre-halves in recent years but it was playing for the Hoops under Neil Lennon and later Ronny Deila which saw him catch the eye from clubs down South and the Saints snapped him up for £13 million.

Gordon only played with the towering Dutchman for one season prior to his Premier League switch, but the Celtic goalkeeper is adamant that Van Dijk has “absolutely everything” to become one of the world’s finest central defenders.
He told The Daily Post: “He has absolutely everything to go on and become one of the great centre-halves in world football.
“I knew when he left here, I was fairly sure that Southampton wouldn’t be his club for very long.

“He is a fantastic footballer and I am sure he is going to do an excellent job for Liverpool. He is a top-class defender, everybody will get to see the best of him now he is playing at a top club.”
Celtic included a 10% sell-on clause in the deal he signed with Southampton, meaning that the Hoops will get a £7.5 million windfall from the mega-money transfer.
