The Celtic goalkeeper is hoping for positive competition with his teammate over the coming season.

While eager to get across there is no bitterness or an unhealthy rivalry with Bain, the shot-stopper nonetheless admits that it was a decision difficult to deal with last season.
Having performed well against Rangers immediately prior to Celtic’s winter break, the goalkeeper had not expected Brendan Rodgers to make the call, which ended up being one of his last big ones as Hoops manager.
As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the veteran said: “That took me a while deal with. I felt I’d played a pretty good game that day at Ibrox. But the manager said he wanted to try Scott in a run of games.
“After a month or so the manager came back to me and said he didn’t want to change it again because the team was playing really well. So that was that.
“It was explained to me. I didn’t like it — but that’s football. Scott did really well so what I did then was try and work really hard to get back.”
In truth the switch has been a positive one for Celtic with Bain keeping a healthy amount of clean sheets and producing some big saves when needed since being installed.
A massive 22 of his 31 matches last season resulted in no goals being conceded.

Gordon has had to remain patient and is hoping to put pressure on Lennon to change his selections going forward, but the 36-year-old is adamant that he and his teammate help each other over the coming season.
He would go on to tell the paper: “We get on really well together in training so there are never any bad words or animosity. We always support each other and that’s the way it’ll stay.”
Having two quality goalkeepers duking it out in a positive manner for the number one spot can only be a benefit to Celtic and Lennon, even if the manager may have some selection headaches over the coming weeks and months.
