Craig Gordon has suggested that the best defender he has ever played with at Celtic is Virgil Van Dijk, during a question & answer session with the club’s official Twitter channel.
Gordon and Van Dijk were teammates at Celtic for just one season, in 2014/15.
But the Dutch international impressed Gordon so much, that he has picked the Southampton man as the best defender he has ever played with in his career.
Van Dijk spent two season at Celtic, but his talent did not go unnoticed and Southampton snapped him up in 2015.
Since moving to England, Van Dijk’s reputation has increased further – and he is now regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
In the question and answer session, Gordon also answered a range of other questions.
One of his more interesting responses was given when he was asked about Celtic youngster Leo Fasan, who is currently on loan at Port Vale.
Gordon also revealed that Fernando Torres is one of the best strikers he has ever played against.
