Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon is keen to continue at Parched for as long as possible.
Gordon has become Brendan Rodgers’ first choice stopper, and was in fine form during the Scottish League Cup final at the weekend.
Celtic beat Motherwell 2-0 at the weekend, with Gordon pulling off a number of fine saves during the contest.
And the 35-year-old stopper is convinced that he is capable of playing football for years yet.
Gordon said: “I’m not 35 until next month, so if someone like (Gianluigi) Buffon is one to aim for, I’ve still got nearly five years on him.
“I just want to keep playing as long as I can at the highest level and I want to keep playing in this team because this is a such a special time for the club and it’s such a special group.”
Gordon’s performances in domestic football for Celtic have generally been impressive, with the Bhoys continuing to dominate in Scotland.
However, the former Sunderland man has faced criticism for his performances in Europe.
Gordon has occasionally been found wanting in the Champions League, with some Celtic supporters suggesting he needs to be upgraded if the are to make progress in the competition in future.
Celtic are next in action tomorrow, when they take on Motherwell again at Fir Park.
