The Irishman joined Celtic earlier this month from Aberdeen.
Craig Gordon has admitted to Sky Sports he is glad that he does not have to face Jonny Hayes any longer after the winger joined Celtic.
The 29-year-old joined Celtic from Aberdeen in a £1.3 million move last week.
The Irish winger has proven himself a handful against the Hoops in recent years, scoring twice in five appearances against Brendan Rodgers’s side last season – including one in the Scottish Cup final last month.
And the Scottish goalkeeper is happy to be on the same side as him now.
“Jonny always seemed to do well when he played against us over the last couple of seasons,” Gordon said to Sky Sports.
“I’m glad he’s on our team now rather than facing up to him.”
Hayes could make his competitive debut for Celtic on July next month as Rodgers’s men gear up for a Champions League qualifier against Linfield or La Fiorita.
It is a tough job of improving the Scottish Premiership champions, who won a domestic treble last season without losing a match, but Hayes certainly has the experience and the talent to add something to the team next term.
