Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the Barcelona star.

Speaking to ESPN, Craig Burley has rubbished the suggestion that Tottenham Hotspur could sign Barcelona’s Jordi Alba in January.

Losing the 28-year-old would surely mean that Tottenham would need a replacement, with much-maligned Ben Davies the club’s only other option, but Burley isn’t buying the idea that Mauricio Pochettino could get the Champions League winner in.
He told ESPN: “Why would he leave Barcelona to go to Tottenham? Champions League winners, La Liga winners, and potential Champions League winners again this year – to join a team who aren’t in the title race in England.

“They’re talking about Rose is going to leave but although they might go for another left-back, I don’t think that one’s going to happen.”
Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona side boast a five-point lead at the summit of the Primera Division and the Spaniard has started 12 of their 14 league games so far.
Alba, who has two and a half years left on his contract, is very much an important player at Camp Nou and it does seem unlikely that they would be willing to offload him.
