David Moyes has been appointed as the West Ham United manager.
West Ham have recently appointed former Manchester United and Everton boss Moyes as their manager following the departure of Slaven Bilic.
The Hammers are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with just nine points from 11 matches, a point behind 17th-placed Bournemouth.
Former Scotland international midfielder Burley, who now works as a pundit for ESPN, has backed ex-Sunderland manager Moyes to keep West Ham in the Premier League next season.
Burley told ESPN when asked if Moyes will keep West Ham up: “Yes. I think there are worse squads in the Premier League.”
West Ham do have a good squad, and players such as Joe Hart, Javier Hernandez and Manuel Lanzini are simply too good to be fighting for survival in the Premier League.
The Hammers, though, have to dig in and grind out results in the weeks following the international break, and perhaps they can then start playing good attacking football that is easy on the eye.
