West Ham United are struggling in the Premier League at the moment.

Craig Bellamy has suggested to Sky Sports that West Ham United could lose Marko Arnautovic in the January transfer window if the team continue to struggle.

West Ham have lost all four of the Premier League matches so far this campaign, and there are already doubts that, just like last season, the London club will be involved in the relegation battle.

Arnautovic was one of the best and most talented players in the Hammers’ squad, and former West Ham forward Bellamy has suggested that the London Stadium outfit could struggle to hold onto the Austria international attacker – who earns £100,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – in January if the team’s results do not improve.

Bellamy told Sky Sports about Arnautovic: “He’s the one player for me at this present moment that West Ham do have with a bit of pace and do have as a threat.

“However, he’s a volatile player as well. If it isn’t going his way come January and West Ham are struggling, he’s one player, if there is going to be interest, that’s going to test you.”

Marko Arnautovic is key

Arnautovic, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, was arguably West Ham’s best and most influential player last season.

The former Stoke City star scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 28 Premier League starts for the Hammers during the 2017-18 campaign, according to WhoScored.

The Austrian will be key to West Ham’s fortunes during the 2018-19 campaign as well.
