Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League.
Former Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy has told talkSPORT that he thinks the Reds are a couple of players short of winning the title this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently third in the table and nine points behind league leaders Chelsea with a game in hand.
They have impressed many so far and look to be serious contenders for the title this year.
Doubts have been raised about them, though, especially their defence, which has conceded the joint second highest amount of the top ten so far.

And Bellamy says he cannot see the winning the title, believing the current squad is one or two players short at this moment in time.
“I just feel they’re one or two players short [of winning the league],” he told talkSPORT.
“There’s not much wrong with what they’re doing. If you get an outstanding defensive midfielder, maybe another centre-back.”

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool do look to add to their squad in the January transfer window.
All indications so far have been that the Reds will not be active in the window and will instead stick with what they have.
With this title race looking likely to be a tight one, though, perhaps they may end up changing those plans to ensure they can compete for the remainder of the season.
