West Ham have signed Issa Diop.

West Ham last night confirmed the signing of defender Issa Diop.
The Hammers pulled off a swift move for the Toulouse centre-back, who made 34 Ligue 1 starts last season.
Diop is just 21 and a France youth international and West Ham beat competition from rival Premier League sides for his signature.

He strengthens a position of need, after the Hammers released veteran defender James Collins.
Diop is young and the has potential to become one of Europe’s best defenders. Working under Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham will help his cause.

Diop captained Toulouse at just 20 and his leadership qualities set him up for success at the Hammers.
Signed five years to the day West Ham bought Andy Carroll, the club need Diop to show more consistency than the striker and have far better luck with injuries.
