Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that they are close to signing Joe Hart from Tottenham.
Sky Sports report that the Tottenham goalkeeper will be in Scotland today to undergo a medical.
The England international is surplus to requirements in North London and he will now take his shot-stopping qualities to Glasgow.
Well, if Hart felt that things are a mess at Spurs with Harry Kane not turning up for training then he’s walking into another mess with the Bhoys.
Failure to qualify for the Champions League and beaten on the opening day of the Premiership campaign for the first time in over two decades, all of Hart’s experiences and leadership qualities will be needed here.
Another thing Hart will find in common between Celtic and Spurs is that they both took an age to appoint a new manager this summer – and still they probably weren’t the first, second or third choice.
But Celtic fans are looking for some light at the end of the tunnel as the board at Parkhead come under increasing pressure.
And many are positive about Hart donning their colours this season because they feel that his past experiences will come in handy.
It has been a number of years since Hart has played on a regular basis, with stints on Burnley’s bench and trips to Italy all resulting in his career going from being England’s number one to someone who probably wouldn’t make the top ten now.
But this is where Hart will want to get off the canvas and showcase his worth at a club that needs picking up itself.
