Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter in disgust after hearing José Mourinho share four words with the BBC after Sunday’s 2-2 draw.

Following the four-goal thriller against Newcastle, the BBC asked Mourinho why he now struggles to defend leads, having been so good at it throughout his career.

In response, the 58-year-old said: “Same coach, different players.”

Now, that is an awful comment to make.

Mourinho is deflecting the blame away from himself entirely, when as manager, he simply has to take some ownership of the situation.

How must the Tottenham players feel after hearing these four words?

The ex-Chelsea boss will surely only turn his own players against him with careless, reckless comments such as these.

It’s beginning to feel as if Mourinho wants to be sacked.

Comments like his one to the BBC just ooze short-termism. Yes, they may get a reaction in the immediate future, but your players – presumably – will not be a big fan of you in the long-term.

One thing’s for certain – the Tottenham fans aren’t pleased with what he said.

Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the remark…
