The Sky Blues U23s locked horns with their Leeds counterparts at Elland Road in the Professional Development League semi-final.

Coventry City Under-23s put in an impressive performance against a strong Leeds United U23s outfit in Monday night’s Professional Development League semi-final at Elland Road but unfortunately fell just short.
A stoppage-time equaliser from the Sky Blues – the fourth goal of the match – saw the Whites of Carlos Corberan taken to extra time and the hosts’ winner came just six minutes before penalties were due.
Leeds were bright from the off and took the lead just five minutes in through Robbie Gotts, but Coventry eventually drew level in the second half when David Bremang slotted home from Jonathon Ngandu’s cutback.
The Whites once again edged ahead when goalkeeper Corey Addai spilled the ball and Ryan Edmondson punished his error six minutes from time, but three minutes into stoppage time, a shot from distance by Josh Eccles was deflected into the back of the net.
A titanic clash, in which numerous players went down with fatigue and cramp, was finally settled six minutes from the end of extra time when Leeds forward Kun Temenuzhkov worked room for a shot from the edge of the box and found the back of the net.
Here is what some Coventry players thought about the performance and result as they took to Twitter after the game:
Some Sky Blues fans took to the platform to respond, and had nothing but sheer pride for Jason Farndon’s charges:
