Walters has caught the eye at National League North side Tamworth after joining the club last summer.
Teenage winger Walters caught the eye of Coventry scouts during their recent friendly with Tamworth, and the club have moved quickly to bring him to the Ricoh Arena.
Walters’ pace and skill in the friendly with Coventry’s Under-23s impressed the Sky Blues as Tamworth ran out 2-1 winners, and they see him as a potential star in the making.
Walters has been invited to link up with Coventry for training this week, and he will then put pen to paper on a deal to join the League One new boys.
Coventry boss Mark Robins has been busy in the transfer market so far this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad following their successful promotion from League Two last season.
Walters is unlikely to go straight into Robins’ first-team plans as the player will have to fight his way into the side, but Coventry will be hoping he can continue his rapid development this upcoming campaign at the club.
