Former Real Madrid great Pedja Mijatovic has told Cadena Ser how reported Arsenal and Newcastle United target Luka Jovic should move clubs this summer.
The Real Madrid striker just hasn’t got going at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Jovic moved the Spanish capital from Eintracht Frankfurt for £53 million last summer.
But after just four La Liga starts this term, the Serb could be set for a swift exit with Arsenal, Newcastle United and Everton among the clubs linked in April (90Min).
Speaking to reporters, Mijatovic feels Jovic may be better off leaving Madrid.
“Personally I would have liked to talk about him for scoring goals. He is young and has come here with a good reputation after a good year at Eintracht. But we have not seen much, just some details that do not serve to say that he is a Real Madrid player. He himself seems not to be one hundred percent involved with the idea of succeeding at Madrid. A solution has to be found. It is counterproductive to stay here like this,” Mijatovic explained.
Competition for places:
Jovic clearly has the talent, but he can’t break in at Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal. Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale, Vinicius Jr, Marco Asensio and Rodrygo to name a few.
Arsenal may see Jovic as an ideal option to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang’s contract at the Emirates expires in 2021. The Gunners could cash in this summer rather than risk losing the Gabon international for free next year.
Newcastle, on the other hand, are in the midst of a Saudi billionaire takeover.

Jovic, 22, has his whole career ahead of him and English football would suit his style.
