Gabriel Agbonlahor has fired back at TalkSPORT pundit Jordan Bryan, after he claimed that Mason Mount was a ‘more complete midfielder’ than Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.
Mount scored the winner for Chelsea against Fulham at the weekend, and the goal led to the England international earning serious praise.
But Agbonlahor couldn’t believe it when he heard Mount being talked up as a better player for Grealish.
“Jack Grealish is one of the top four players in the Premier League at the moment,” the former Villa striker said.
“I’m having Maddison and Mount over him,” Bryan insisted. “I think Mount has more to his game than Grealish. I think Mount is a more complete midfielder.”
The debate was one which clearly aggravated Agbonlahor as he went back and re-visited it on Twitter the next day.
Grealish, himself, has actually came out and spoke highly of Mount during their time on England duty together.
The pair are often compared with each other, which may not be entirely fair.
Grealish is unquestionably the better dribbler of the two, but Mount may offer more off the ball in terms of pressing.
The Villa and Chelsea men are both enjoying excellent seasons, and that can only be good news for England, as the European Championships edge closer.
