There’s a hundred and one reasons to find fault with Arsenal these days.

But former Spurs star Peter Crouch didn’t like their choice of kit in the Europa League last week.

Arsenal put Rapid Vienna to the sword with a 4-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.

But despite being at home, the Gunners had to wear their third kit, the blue one.

According to Football London, it was a UEFA decision because Arsenal’s two other kits both clashed with the Austrian sides’ other attire.

And Crouch has claimed that he couldn’t get his head around it, arguing that Arsenal – albeit enforced – broke tradition to some extent.

He told The Mail on Monday: “I saw Arsenal play in blue at the Emirates last Thursday, David, and I couldn’t get my head around it.

“I don’t like calling new stadiums by sponsors’ names and I certainly don’t like seeing swaps like that — if Arsenal are at home, they should be playing in red and white. It’s that simple. What is wrong with sticking to tradition?”

If you’re superstitious, perhaps there’s an argument that Arsenal should wear that shirt every week.

Scoring four goals is very much a rarity these days for the Gunners, who have only scored 10 goals in 11 Premier League games this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side are 15th in the Premier League table and it’s clear that the Spanish coach needs to do something to stem the tide of dreadful form.
