Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said on talkSPORT (5:11pm, October 21, 2021) that he will not join Tottenham Hotspur if they come for him in January.
Wilshere is a free agent at the moment, having parted company with Bournemouth at the end of the 2020-21 season.
The 29-year-old is training with Arsenal at the moment to keep himself fit.
The Englishman will leave the Gunners at the end of January.
So, Wilshere could sign for any club on a free transfer when the window opens in January.
However, the 29-year-old has ruled out a potential move to Tottenham, although he has jokingly suggested that if the North London club pay him £1 million per week, then he will go to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Wilshere said when asked if he would join Spurs in January if they come for him: “No. I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t do that to Arsenal fans.”
When asked if Spurs pay him £1 million per week, the Englishman (jokingly) said: “Of course, I would for £1 million a week.”
Wilshere added: “I couldn’t do it to the Arsenal fans.”
