Ian Taylor has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Aston Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Leeds United on Friday evening.

The former Villa star believes that Leeds were the better team in the Premier League game at Villa Park.

Taylor has said that Dean Smith’s side could not cope with the energy of the Leeds players.

Another former Villa star, Lee Hendrie, has praised Leeds for their performance and is disappointed with the final result.

Match Stats

Villa had 41% of the possession, took 12 shots but four were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.

Leeds had 59% of the possession, took 27 shots and nine were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.

Leeds United were better

Leeds were the better team, especially in the second half, as striker Patrick Bamford scored a hat-trick.

Perhaps Villa could have defended better overall, but the way the Whites pressed and pushed the Villans back, there was always going to be one winner once Bamford had scored his first goal in the 55th minute.
