Andy Gray told beIN SPORTS (08/11/20 at 9:20 pm) that Arsenal ‘couldn’t cope’ with the ‘phenomenal’ Jack Grealish on Sunday.

Aston Villa put three goals past the North London side, with Grealish one of the stars of the show, as he provided yet another assist in the Premier League.

That’s four goals and five assists for Villa’s lung-busting ball-carrier, who left many Arsenal players on their backsides last night, including a certain Hector Bellerin who couldn’t cope with the English playmaker’s close control, speed and exquisite turn of movement.

Former Villa striker Gray believes Villa’s boyhood fan carries the ball as could as ‘most players I have seen’, as he shared his thoughts on his performance.

“Grealish, certainly in the second half, I thought was phenomenal,” said Gray. “He showed us what a player he is and they couldn’t cope with him.

“That’s what Grealish does, he carries the ball better than most players I have seen. He never gets stuck with it. He is always in control of it. He releases it [for Villa’s third goal] look at that for strength, just at the right time, so it’s a one-touch finish and no need to control it, Watkins.

“11 seconds [from Martinez collecting the ball to Villa’s third goal]. That’s phenomenal.”

Grealish is just going from strength to strength and he has to be considered as one of the best players in the Premier League, at this moment in time.

He played like a kid in the playground at the Emirates, and whilst Arsenal’s defending had schoolboy elements to it, Villa’s pressing without the ball and quality and link up with the ball was of seriously high quality.

Last season, Grealish was the sole dancer in Villa’s school prom, but during this campaign, the likes of Ross Barkley, an injury-free John McGinn, and Ollie Watkins, to name a few, are now joining his party.
