According to 90Min, Aston Villa have made contact about potentially signing Tammy Abraham from Roma this summer.

The English striker has enjoyed a fantastic season over in Italy, and as all Villa fans know, he’s an incredibly talented footballer.

Indeed, the Villa Park faithful are well aware of Abraham’s brilliance. The striker, of course, spent the 2018/19 season on loan in the Second City, and his 25 goals helped the Villans win promotion.

Villa supporters were quickly endeared to Abraham, and the striker also impressed the club’s star player – Jack Grealish.

Indeed, Grealish had nothing but good things to say about Abraham in an Instagram Q&A back in 2020.

What’s been said?

Grealish waxed-lyrical after being asked to give his thoughts on Abraham.

“Unbelievable. Couldn’t believe how good he was with the ball for how tall he is. Loved playing with him,” Grealish wrote.

Unique talent

Grealish says that he couldn’t believe Abraham’s combination of size and skill, and that’s what makes him such a unique striker.

Standing at 6 ft 3, Abraham can play as a pure old-school number nine target man, but if he needs to, he can be so much more than that as well.

Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa could really do with a striker like Abraham at the focal point of their attack, and as Grealish’s past praise shows, he’s a fantastic footballer.

Whether or not Villa can tempt Abraham out of Rome remains to be seen.
