Wolves need a striker and have just employed a former Manchester United analyst at Molineux – will Wilson follow him to the Midlands?
Wolves are two points clear at the top of the Championship and are looking like bonafide favourites to earn promotion to the Premier League this season.

The Express and Star reports that the big-spending Midland giants are set to ride into battle once more in the transfer market during the January window – and have made a new striker their number one priority.
This, coinciding with reports in the same Express and Star article that Wolves have hired former Manchester United employee Andrew Findlay as the club’s new performance analyst chief could be seen as paving the way for James Wilson to move to Molineux in January.
The 21-year-old striker said in October that he was open to the idea of leaving Old Trafford on loan in the New Year after recovering from a knee injury that cut short his loan spell at Derby County last season.
The Sun adds that Leeds United and Reading are interested in Wilson, who famously scored twice on his Manchester United first-team debut in 2014 but has failed to kick on since.
However, the homegrown striker could provide some useful cover for the red-hot Leo Bonatini at Wolves. Though Wilson’s goal record at Derby and a previous spell at Brighton left plenty to be desired, he should thrive with creative talents like Ivan Cavaleiro and Diogo Jota laying on chances.
