Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa are both said to be chasing Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Adam Reach.

Wolverhampton Wanderers could get instant revenge on Aston Villa over Tammy Abraham, if they do snap up Adam Reach from Sheffield Wednesday.

Wolves had tried to sign Abraham this month, but the striker decided that he wanted to stick with Villa rather than pursue a move to Molineux.

It means that Wolves will have to look elsewhere for a new forward, while Villa will be delighted to keep their top scorer.

But Wolves could still upset Villa by landing Wednesday midfielder Reach, with the two sides reportedly battling to sign him.

The Daily Star have suggested that Villa are plotting a £10 million move for Reach (page 45, 8th Jan), with Wolves already believed to be keen on the Owls man, according to The Sun.

And if Wolves did beat Villa to the punch with Reach they would still strike a blow to Dean Smith’s side.

Reach could be a wonderful addition to Villa’s squad, and seeing him move to Wolves would surely sting, if it did go ahead.
