The Blackburn Rovers striker was signed by Paul Lambert, the Wolverhampton Wanderers boss, in 2016.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have already been linked with a move for one Blackburn Rovers striker this summer. But might another one – besides Sam Gallagher – feature on Paul Lambert’s Wolves wishlist?

Lambert, who has already signed ex-Rovers winger Ben Mashall since taking the Molineux reins, brought Danny Graham to Ewood Park in January 2016 and was rewarded with seven goals in 18 games from the Geordie frontman, helping to keep the Lancastrians up.

Had Lambert been Wolves’ manager at the start of the campaign, it’s highly likely he’d have brought Graham with him on a free transfer.

Lambert praised the Graham at regular intervals last season, with the 31-year-old later thanking his manager for taking a chance on him after his Sunderland nightmare. It seems their respect for one another is mutual.

And while he won’t be available for nothing this time around, it’s plausible that Graham could again be sought by Lambert if Blackburn go down, as is a possibility with one game still to play.

Lambert has already stated he plans to buy British this summer and Blackburn are unlikely to want to shoulder the burden of Graham’s wages while playing in League One. A move to Molineux could suit all parties.

And having scored 12 goals in 34 league outings for a struggling side this season, Wolves could certainly do worse.

Would Graham be a good signing for Wolverhampton Wanderers?
