Developments at Forest mean Wolves could have a new rival in their pursuit of a new front man.
Guinea striker Sylla (R) is wanted by Sunderland, Burnley, Southampton and Swansea City, a report claims.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are being linked with a move for Anderlecht striker Idrissa Sylla, the Express & Star reported earlier this week.
In-demand Sylla, whose name first cropped up prior to Wolves’ capture of Benik Afobe, scored six goals in 10 stars for the Belgian side last season, but will be allowed to leave provided they can find a replacement, the report claims.
Afobe (L) was a big loss for Wolves last season
With Afobe having left for Bournemouth mid-season and Adam Le Fondre and Bjorn Sigurdarson also departing, Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has admitted a need for striker at Molineux next season.
But could developments on the other side of the Midlands scupper his plans?
According to reports on Friday, Besnik Hasi, the man who brought Sylla to Anderlecht, is to be offered the vacant Nottingham Forest manager’s job.
Hasi could be Forest bound, a report claims
And having seen Nelson Oliveira return to Benfica, Forest could do with a new front man themselves, even with the return to fitness of record signing Britt Assombalonga.
Freed from the transfer embargo which has held them back these past 18 months, with new investment thought to be around the corner and Hasi potentially on his way in, Sylla at The City Ground would make an awful lot of sense.
