Leeds United’s long-running links with Swedish defender Linus Wahlqvist appear to have dried up for now. Voetbal Belgie first linked The Whites with the Norrkoping right-back in November of last year and, for the next few months, Leeds were a constant presence in the Scandinavian press with Wahlqvist earning rave reviews for his impressive performances.

And Wahlqvist may be one player who could catch the club’s eye. Wolves aren’t blessed with endless options at right-back after all with Matt Doherty one of the few in the squad capable of playing in the role.

Wahlqvist, then, would provide some useful back-up and, if he continues to enhance his growing reputation in Sweden, should quickly become one of the names at the top of Goodchild’s wishlist.
