Newcastle United are said to have offered Aleksandar Mitrovic to West Ham United.

Aleksandar Mitrovic arrives prior to the Premier League match between Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth at St. James Park on November 4, 2017 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

According to a report in The Sun, West Ham United have been offered Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, ahead of the January transfer window.

Newcastle are looking to offload Mitrovic, with Rafael Benitez seemingly having doubts over the Serbian forward.

And it may mean that a swap deal could suit both parties now, with Newcastle former admirers of West Ham striker Andy Carroll.

Carroll enjoyed the best spell of his career during his time at Newcastle, before he moved to Liverpool and West Ham.

The England international’s career has been blighted by injury more recently, and West Ham could be open to offloading him.

If West Ham are to get rid of Carroll, then Mitrovic looks like an ideal replacement.

The pair are both powerful in the air, and can bully opposition defenders.

And if Newcastle are keen to get rid of Mitrovic, then a trade for Carroll could suit all parties involved.
