West Ham are reportedly interested in Chelsea’s Willy Caballero and Edouard Mendy of Reims, but why not sign both goalkeepers?

West Ham United have been linked with two goalkeepers in recent days as new manager Manuel Pellegrini seeks a fresh approach between the sticks.
Firstly, the Sun claimed that Pellegrini was seeking a reunion with Chelsea’s Willy Caballero, whom the Chilean managed at Malaga and then signed for Manchester City.

Caballero still has a year left to run on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, but could be tempted to move across London with the lure of being the Hammers’ number one.
Then the Mirror reported that Reims stopper Edouard Mendy was on Pellegrini’s radar after an impressive season that earned his side promotion from Ligue 1.

Newcastle United and a number of Championship clubs are also understood to be interested in Mendy, who is available for around £2million, but West Ham are hoping to win the race.
Joe Hart will be returning to City after an unsuccessful loan spell and Pellegrini is unconvinced by Adrian’s consistency, so perhaps the East Londoners should look to land both ‘keepers in a complete shakeup in goal?
