Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS journalist, Ben Jacobs, has shared what he knows about Arsenal and their reported interest in Yeremy Pino.

This is a rumour that has really heated up in recent days, and according to Jacobs, there is serious substance to this one.

The journalist says that he’s spoken to sources close to the player, and he’s led to believe that this transfer could be one that moves rather quickly.

What’s been said?

Jacobs shared what he knows about Pino.

“Arsenal fans have been talking about mystery wingers all summer, and Yeremy Pino is fantastic by the way. A really good player. I think this one is one to watch. First of all he has a release clause, if Arsenal do business below that clause they’ll have pulled off a fantastic signing. The release clause is over £65m and the feeling is that Arsenal’s interest is in the mid-30s, so it would be a fantastic bit of busines and ambitious as well,” Jacobs said.

“I’ve seen reports that Arsenal will have an offer accepted, they believe in Spain that a bid of half of his release clause could be accepted because Villarreal need the money. From what I understand, this does genuinely have a bit more substance to it.

“I made an enquiry to the player’s agent 24 hours ago to find out if there was a desire to move and I got quite a coy response. It may come down to whether a young 19-year-old thinks it’s the right time to make move to Arsenal with a big tag over him.

“I would classify this one as one to watch, it could well move quickly and it does have something to it based on talking sources close to the player coupled with the fact that Villarreal need to find money from somewhere.”

Fits the bill

Arsenal sound as though they’re interested in Pino, and it’s fair to say that this is a transfer that would make a lot of sense.

This Arsenal team is built around talented, tricky, young players, and Pino ticks all of those boxes.

At the age of just 19, the Spaniard has so much room to improve, and he’d fit brilliantly into an Arsenal side that is amongst the youngest in the Premier League.

As Jacobs says, this could be a fantastic signing, and it’s certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming days.
