Everton have been linked with Arsenal forward Theo Walcott recently.
And Walcott spoke earlier this year about the relationship that he has formed with Rooney on international duty with England.
“We have quite a good bond because he knows the runs I make,” Walcott said.

“The first thing he thinks is Theo is going to make this run, so I don’t even need to look at times.
“He’s a winner on and off the pitch, he’s a great person to talk to and he talks a lot of sense.”
Rooney, of course, moved back to Everton earlier this summer and a potential link-up could be exciting at Goodison Park.
Walcott would likely take the striking role at Everton, if he was to join, with Rooney playing just behind him.
The pair are yet to be teammates at club level, but Walcott clearly feels that Rooney knows his game well.
And if they Walcott and Rooney did work well in tandem, then Everton would have an attacking force to be feared.
Walcott possesses masses of speed, while Rooney has the passing ability to unlock defences – and the potential partnership is a tantalising prospect for supporters of the Merseyside club.
